Stephanie Chalupka (Nursing) and Linda Larrivee (Education, Health, and Natural Sciences) on the award of a Department of Higher Education grant for the Partnerships for Central Massachusetts Regional Direct Care Workers Pathways project.
This grant of $59,917 will allow Worcester State to partner with UMass Memorial Medical Center and the State Healthcare and Research Employee’s Union, to provide educational on-site courses to direct-care workers to enable them to pursue higher educational degrees.
A career pathway will be created that facilitates the direct-care workers with pre-college support and credits to attain college-level certificates and degrees.
