Chandler’s Challenge is back on February 6 and 7.
This student-led fundraising competition inspired by NCAA March Madness is in its fifth year. During the 48 hours of the competition, teams are divided into two brackets and face off against each other to see who can get the highest number of donors and raise the most money for their club or athletic team.
Every dollar donated to Chandler’s Challenge goes directly to the student groups that are competing. The dollars are spent for travel to athletic and club events, for equipment and supplies, and for special projects initiated by student organizations.
“Chandler’s Challenge is always a great event that not only raises money for our students but also supports teambuilding and friendly competition,” said Caitlyn Costello ’13, assistant director of Development for University Advancement. “I’m really excited to see who will be this year’s Candler’s Champion!”
The university is also offering a number of bonus prizes, ranging from $250 to $1,000, that students groups will also be competing for:
- Chandler’s Champion: $1,000 to the top donor score over all rounds
- 1st Place: $1,000 (one winner in each bracket)
- 2nd Place: $500 (one winner in each bracket)
- Most Alumni Donors: $500 (one winner in each bracket)
- Power Hours: $250 each power hour; four total over the two days (one winner in each bracket each time)
Individuals may join the challenge by visiting the web page to see team fundraising goals and complete the Worcester State trivia game.
