The community has voted and once again, Worcester State University captured the Community’s Choice Award for Best of Central Mass College/University. The award was announced at the annual Community’s Choice Awards Gala at the DCU Center Nov. 9.
The annual awards are hosted by the Worcester Telegram and Gazette and selected by popular vote. Over the summer, the public submitted their favorites in each category up to once a day on the Telegram and Gazette website. The top five in each category moved on to a voting round in August. The organization with the most votes wins the Community’s Choice Award. Worcester State beat the two other finalists for the college/university award, Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
Worcester State has previously won the Community’s Choice Award several times in years past. The award is among numerous other rankings the university has earned, including Worcester Magazine’s award for Worcester’s Best College for 14 years between 2002 and 2019 and Princeton Review’s Best Northeastern College for 16 years consecutively between 2005-2020. “Worcester State is thrilled to receive this recognition,” said Worcester State Marketing Director Kelly Lin, who was on hand with Presidential Student Ambassador Emma Polak at the gala to accept the award. “We want to thank all of our alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students and their families for their support.”
