Worcester State University Graduate School students Ginny Combs of Framingham, Mass., and Annie Dolan of Jefferson, Mass., are recipients of the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards.
Combs, working on getting her Masters of Science in the Public and Community Health Nursing track, received the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in the Maternal/Newborn Nurse Division. Combs currently works at Boston Medical Center.
Dolan, working on getting her Masters of Science in the Nurse Educator track, received the Nurse of the Year Award in the Student Nurse Division. Dolan currently works at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
According to a press release from the March of Dimes Foundation, “Nurses are an integral part of the March of Dimes mission for stronger, healthier babies. The Nurse of the Year Awards is a statewide event that recognizes exceptional nurses, creates awareness of professional excellence and promotes the future of the nursing profession, while helping to advance the mission of the March of Dimes.” The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.
