Alumni are invited to return to the Worcester State University campus for a weekend of reunion events on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14. “We are excited to welcome our alumni back,” said Tara Hancock, executive director of alumni relations and engagement.
This will be the first on-campus reunion weekend since 2019. The weekend is “jam-packed this year, and alumni are excited to come back” according to Hancock.
Friday’s events start with a Golden Graduate Luncheon for classes that graduated 50 or more years ago. The lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and will be in the Wellness Center. Those attending will be seated at tables with others from their graduating class. “The Golden Graduate Luncheon is always a fun event for our alums and a great chance for classes to celebrate,” said Hancock.
Evening festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with special reunions for two groups. Alumni and faculty of the Psychology Department will gather in the Student Center for a fun-filled evening to reconnect and network. The Class of 2002 can reconnect and reminisce at their 20th reunion, held in Sheehan Hall, room 109.
The Party on the Eve – a celebration welcoming the Class of 2022 to the alumni family on the eve of their graduation ceremony – starts at 6:00. Alumni from all class years are also invited to help welcome them. This event will be held on the Wasylean Hall Patio and will have food stations, lawn games, a cash bar, a DJ, giveaways, and more.
On Saturday, at 6 p.m., the ’70s Decade Reunion will be held in Sheehan Hall. The celebration will invite alumni who graduated from 1970 to 1979 to come back for a night of laughter, friendship, and nostalgia.
“Our alumni are looking forward to celebrating!” Hancock said, and encouraged those who haven’t yet purchased their ticket to “visit our website and sign up today!”
