Robert Brooks (Criminal Justice) presented two papers with Jeffrey Cohen at the American Society of Criminology in Atlanta, Ga., in November: “Bullying Goes Viral: News Media Constructions of Cyber-Bullying” and “Constructing the Gay Bullying Victim: a Discourse of Fragility over Resilience.”
Brooks also presented, with Alain Blunt, at the fourth International Conference on the Image in Chicago, Illinois in October. The presentation was titled “Billboard Babies: Embodied Images of Identity and Aspiration in Infant Clothing.”
Brooks also was a guest on the radio program Business, Politics, and Lifestyles with Gary Goldman (WCRN) on October 26. On that program, he discussed the killing of a teacher in Danvers and, more generally, youth offenders and violent crime.
