More than 80 Kindergartners from four classes classes at the Chandler Magnet School walked across the street to Worcester State University’s Ghosh Center for Science and Technology to learn about skulls and see what science is like at college.
Among the faculty who volunteered to make the day a success were Steven Oliver, Sebastian Velez, and Daron Barnard, all from the Biology Department [1], and students Yolanda Sullivan and Amy Evanowski, who are undergraduates majoring in Early Childhood Education.
Education Department [2] faculty contributors included Douglas Dawson and Margarita Perez.
According to reports from Chandler Magnet School, some of the children were the first in their families to ever set foot on a college campus, and they continued to talk about the visit after the event.
