Comeau Leads WSU’s Center for Business and Industry

Cherie Comeau has been recently hired by Worcester State University to run the Center for Business and Industry [1] (CBI) within its Division of Graduate and Continuing Education (DGCE).

The CBI focuses on providing quality credit and non-credit education, as well as on-site training programs at businesses for their employees. A goal of the center is to utilize the expertise of faculty and staff to collaborate with businesses to benefit the University at large.

Comeau is charged with connecting businesses with the training capabilities of Worcester State University, developing and managing programs for nonprofits and for-profits alike. Worcester State faculty and staff, as well as external consultants, are available to meet industry education and training needs. Comeau can also help eligible businesses obtain grant funding to cover the costs of workforce development.

“Businesses seeking non-credit professional development and/or credit degree programs will be offered customized options through the Center for Business and Industry that can be delivered in the workplace, online, or on campus,” Comeau says.  She adds, “There will also be open enrollment training programs offered on campus and online.”

Comeau, who lives in Worcester, has taught business administration courses at Quinsigamond Community College, and served as program manager for workforce development for more than six years at Quinsigamond and then at Middlesex Community College.  She earned an M.B.A. from UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management and a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
