Course Catalogs From the Past Now Online

Course catalogs from Worcester State’s past are now available to read online. The catalogs describe the curriculum at Worcester State from the 1870s to the present and include academic calendars, admissions requirements, names of students, faculty, and administrators, and descriptions of extracurricular activities and campus facilities.

“Since this collection dates back to the University’s founding in 1874, it allows us to trace Worcester State’s development from a normal school to a full-fledged university,” says WSU archivist Ross Griffiths. “Digitizing these materials and placing them online makes them much easier for researchers to access.”

The catalogs were digitized in 2019 as part of WSU’s membership in the Digital Commonwealth. The collection is hosted on the Internet Archive and can be browsed there or on the Archives website. [1]
