At the Executive Office of Public Safety and the Massachusetts Department of Correction’s annual Excellence Award ceremony, the Worcester State University Criminal Justice Department was presented with the Innovations in Public Safety Partnership Award.
Several faculty members, joined by the president of the Criminal Justice Club, went to Lake Pearl Banquet Center in Wrentham, Mass., for the gala event, where Stephen Morreale and Hye-Sun Kim accepted the award on behalf of the Criminal Justice Department from the commissioner of corrections and the undersecretary of public safety.
Worcester State University is the first college or university to ever receive the Innovation Award by the Department of Corrections.
