Dean Larrivee Appointed to City’s Accessibility Advisory Commission

Linda S. Larrivee ’76, M.S. ’80, Ph.D., dean of the School of Education, Health, and Natural Sciences, has been appointed to the Accessibility Advisory Commission for the city of Worcester.

According to its web page, “The Accessibility Advisory Commission ensures that all Worcester residents and visitors with disabilities have access to city programs and services by providing information and referral, advocacy, outreach and educational programs.”

“As a speech-language pathologist, I have worked for many years to assure that all members of a community have access to the programs and spaces provided by that community,” says Larrivee. “As a faculty member and dean, I have been involved in interdisciplinary research projects that examine these issues. Therefore, I am happy to both bring my expertise to the topics explored by the commission and to learn more about the needs of the community.”

“Dean Larrivee brings a wealth of experience and a passion for improving the lives of others that will make her a vital member of the Accessibility Advisory Commission. I appreciate her willingness to volunteer her service to the city, and I welcome her to the Commission,” says Worcester City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr.
