Hollander and Dawson Present at Reading and Learning Conference

Pam Hollander (Education) and Duke Dawson (Education) presented “Tackling Student Problems with College-Level Reading” at the Northeast College Reading and Learning Association Conference at Assumption College on March 12, 2016. This presentation represents the work of a Center for Teaching and Learning faculty learning community focusing on college-level reading across the curriculum at Worcester State.

This work presents findings about student reading habits in science classes. This is part of an ongoing study of student reading habits across the curriculum, which will next focus on reading in history classes.

The goal of this research is to raise awareness about issues that stand in the way of students completing reading for classes. The research aims to capture both professor and student perspectives on reading at the college level.
