Adjunct Professor Lisa Kramer (Visual and Performing Arts) recently published her debut novel, P.O.W.ER [1], available now from Word Hermit Press.
This speculative young adult novel shares the story of a time where access to the written word is reserved for men. The protagonist’s ability to read and write must remain a secret, or she could lose her hands, her eyes or her life.
At 17, Andra discovers that her abilities extend beyond reading: She can write events to life. Her powers come to the attention of both the government and a rebel group, who each desire to use Andra for their own goals. As she fights back, she empowers others to stop governmental oppression.
A portion of the proceeds of each book sold will be donated to causes that support women and children around the world.
