Professor Danielle Shaver presented a poster this past week at the annual meeting of the Massachusetts / Rhode Island chapter of the National League of Nursing in conjunction with Dr. Bylaska-Davies. This poster examined the role of the nurse educator in the prevention of premature attrition in pre-licensure programs.
The research related to the perception of nursing within the community, the widespread impact attrition has on the national nursing shortage, and how nursing faculty can intervene early in the curriculum to decrease premature attrition rates.
