Vote to Help Worcester State SAAC Win Special Olympics Event of the Month

In February, the Worcester State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in the Wellness Center, welcoming over 50 children to campus for the event.

The event is now up for the Division III Special Olympics event of the month in a poll on NCAA.org. The winning school will receive $500 from the NCAA for use in an upcoming Special Olympics event.

Division III SAAC and Special Olympics created a partnership in 2011 to “enhance the lives of Division III student-athletes and Special Olympics athletes through a mutual learning experience, provide a platform for recognition of Special Olympics athletes and Division III student-athletes within their communities, and raise awareness of Special Olympics, its programs and services.”

Division III student-athletes nationwide are encouraged to participate in Special Olympics events.
