Susanna Meyer (Communication Sciences and Disorders), Emily Soltano (Psychology), and Linda Larrivee (Communication Sciences and Disorders) were among the speakers at the annual convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) November 19-22 in San Diego, California.
Soltano, Meyer, and Larrivee along with Speech-Language Pathology graduate students Jennifer Kerr and Elizabeth Kappos presented a paper regarding speech-language pathologists’ knowledge of and training in second language acquisition.
Soltano, Meyer, and Larrivee along with Speech-Language Pathology Program graduate students Kristina Catacchio and Jennifer Carroll presented a second paper on predictors of English-language acquisition in internationally adopted children.
The ASHA convention, which annually attracts over 10,000 attendees, is the most comprehensive conference for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language and hearing scientists. It had a variety of educational sessions that highlighted the latest developments in research and clinical practices for professionals who provide services in schools, hospitals, health care centers, rehabilitation clinics, and other practice settings.
