Orientation Leaders Demonstrate Safe Campus Guidelines in Video

During the first week of August, members of the 2020 Orientation Leader staff met on Worcester State’s campus for the first time since March to film the Fall 2020 Safe Return video [1] to be shared with the campus community.

While wearing masks and maintaining appropriate social distancing, the orientation leaders traveled to different locations across campus to demonstrate new safety guidelines for the fall to help maintain a safe and healthy campus community.  These guidelines included following new directional signage and utilizing University-provide disinfecting supplies for self-sanitizing areas of use.

They also shared information on mask pickup locations and tips for using the elevator. These guidelines can be viewed on the Safe Return to Campus website [www.worcester.edu/safe-return [2]], along with the full text of the Safe Return to Campus plan and the Mutual Contract of Responsibility.

The final video will be shared with incoming students during the final week of the First-Year Orientation Online program, which concludes Thursday, Aug. 20. More than 550 incoming students participated in the virtual orientation program, which included informative videos, virtual resources, and weekly meetings with orientation leaders and members of their class.

The following orientation leaders volunteered their time to assist with the video:

Michele Bravo-Moran

Jaylene Hurley

Hailie Lemieux

Devin Lyden

Lea Markham

Cayce Pappas

Jonathan Rodriguez

The video was filmed and edited by Associate Director of Student Affairs Josh Katz and Assistant Director of the Office of Student Involvement Sarah Potrikus, with support from Director of Student Involvement Kristie McNamara, who are all professional staff for the orientation program.
