Worcester State’s 30th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Celebration on January 13 drew 450 families, community partners, staff and faculty. Guests were treated to a keynote address by De’Shawn Washington, 2024 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year from Hastings Elementary School and an array of performances. Other speakers included Congressman Jim McGovern, WSU Alumna Melanie Bonsu ’05, and a variety of community leaders. The program highlighted performers by students, dancers and cultural organizations. The event was supported by sponsorships from Country Bank, M&T Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Saint Gobain Abrasives.
