Champika K. Soysa (Psychology) had a peer-reviewed journal article, titled “War and tsunami PTSD responses in Sri Lankan children: Primacy of re-experiencing and arousal compared to avoidance-numbing,” accepted in the Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment and Trauma, 22(8), 896-915.
Her work identified cultural features of post-traumatic stress symptoms in children in response to natural and human disasters.
Soysa had an alternate assignment in Sri Lanka following the Asian Tsunami of 2004 facilitated by Worcester State University.
