Thirty one student teams from across the university will compete next week in Worcester State’s annual Chandler’s Challenge [1] to raise money for athletics, student clubs and community projects.
The two-day bracket-style crowdfunding tournament begins April 4 and will close at midnight. on April 5. Chandler’s Challenge offers staff, faculty, alumni, family and friends a unique opportunity to give directly to student-led organizations to support their projects, programs and operations. This year, all 15 Worcester State athletic teams are competing in the Athletic Bracket, along with 5 newcomers in the Campus Bracket: the Office of Multicultural Affairs, It’s On Us, SAVE Task Force, Finish Line Scholarship and the WSU Counseling Center.
Up for grabs are a host of team prizes supported by University Advancement and Athletics:
- First Place – $1,000
- Second Place – $500
- Power Hours (4 total) – $250 each
- Most Alumni Donors – $500
- Most Dollars Raised – $500

- Enactus [9]: Create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the center of improving their livelihoods

- Finish Line Scholarship [12]: Provide financial support to students close to graduating who have unforseen expenses
