Student Work Dazzles at Annual Celebration of Scholarship and Creativity

The Celebration of Scholarship & Creativity, an annual tradition at Worcester State University, showcases research, scholarship, and creative projects by undergraduate and graduate students. With poster presentations, critical papers, panel discussions, performances, and exhibits, this year’s event, which took place April 23, highlighted outstanding examples of work from across all academic disciplines at the university.

“The range of projects reflects the impressive diversity of our students and their faculty mentors,” said Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Henry Theriault. “It is truly exciting to see students come into their own with the support of caring, expert faculty members.”

Among the projects, students showcased an educational computer game, research on how media messages affect our perceptions, and much more.

“The oral presentations and posters were dazzling this year, reflecting the highest professional standards in each chosen field,” Theriault said. “And, for the first time, we had the opportunity to screen a feature-length film by one of our students. What is more, many of these tremendous projects were funded through grants provided by generous donors, and many received awards funded through other generous donors. It is a genuinely energizing time to be at Worcester State.”
