Worcester State Prepares for Homecoming 2021

Come back to campus for Homecoming Weekend on Sept. 17-18, and enjoy an action packed two days of fun with everyone! Please note if you are attending any indoor events during Homecoming Weekend, mandatory face coverings will be required. On Friday, Sept. 17, events kick off with the unveiling of the Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Blue Lounge of the Student Center. Registration is required and you can do so by visiting https://alumni.worcester.edu/daa2021 [2]

On Saturday, Sept. 18, our Chandler’s Virtual 5K will kick off the day where you can run, walk, or stroll from the comforts of your own home. Participants must register to participate and log in their time once complete. To register, visit: https://alumni.worcester.edu/virtual5k [3]

The softball and baseball teams will be hosting an alumni day celebration at 10 a.m. from Ralph Raymond Diamond and Lyons Field. Visit https://alumni.worcester.edu/bbsb [4] to learn more. At 11 a.m., the men’s soccer team takes on MCLA from Coughlin Field.

At 11:30 a.m. the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2020 will be inducted at a ceremony in the Competition Gym at the Wellness Center. To register and learn more about the inductees, visit https://alumni.worcester.edu/hof20 [5]

Our Homecoming Experience will begin at 12:30 p.m. and is open to all alumni and families. This area which will be located in the Student Center parking lot on central campus and features music, lawn games, a beer/wine garden, a multicultural tent experience with performances, student club tent giveaways, family fun activity area, and more. Football alumni, former players, coaches, and staff are invited to attend a special event featuring a concierge tent on the Coughlin Field end zone. This event will have complimentary food and drinks and it will be a great opportunity to catch up with former teammates and other football greats while celebrating the retirement of Coach Cullen. The football team kicks off at 2:30 p.m. against Fitchburg State from Coughlin Field and there will be a halftime recognition for the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Game ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors (60+), $3 for students (non-Worcester State), children 12 and under free. Free admission for Worcester State students, faculty, and staff with the OneCard.

Please note that there will be no tailgating allowed at Homecoming this year. No outside alcohol will be allowed on campus. The aim is to curtail excessive drinking-with special attention on undergraduate students-while maintaining a tradition of Lancer camaraderie and pride.
