Worcester State University will take over Polar Park on Friday, Sept. 18, for an evening celebrating alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and the University’s growing connections across the Central Massachusetts community. With the partnership with the WooSox, Worcester State ID holders are eligible to buy one $5 ticket per game based on availability.
The Worcester State community will gather at the home of the Worcester Red Sox during the team’s game that evening. This will provide opportunities for alumni and friends of the University to connect, celebrate the start of a new academic year, and recognize the many individuals who support Worcester State through their time, talent, and philanthropy.
The WooSox will face the Durham Bulls at 6:05 p.m., with Tom McNamara ’94, Worcester State’s vice president of advancement, throwing the first pitch. As a student, Tom played on both the men’s baseball and basketball teams.
The event comes as Worcester State continues to strengthen its partnership with the Worcester Red Sox and build relationships with organizations throughout the region. The University has also developed partnerships with community institutions including The Hanover Theatre, Museum of Worcester and Worcester Art Museum as part of its commitment to serving as an engine of experiential learning in Central Massachusetts.
Worcester State Night at Polar Park is one of several alumni and donor events planned throughout the academic year. The University will continue celebrating its alumni and supporters during Homecoming Weekend [1] September 25 and 26, including the Hall of Fame Award Dinner.
