Professor Adam Zahler, chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department, performed David Mamet’s one-act play The Duck Variations at the Williston Old Brick Church in Williston, Vt., on Feb. 7, 2020. Zahler, fellow cast member Kent Cassella, and director Jonathan Bourne first mounted The Duck Variations in 1978 in Burlington, Vt. They decided to remount the play, about two men in their 60s on a park bench, in 2018, 40 years after their first performances. They performed The Duck Variations twice in 2019, including a performance here at WSU. The Williston performance was the first half of a double bill that included award-winning standup comedian Tina Firml.
