Six Worcester State University alumni were included on the Worcester Business Journal’s list of the 50 Most Influential People in Central Massachusetts. The “Power 50” list recognizes professionals who, in the editors’ judgement, use their power effectively to make an impact on Worcester’s business community.
Honored were:
Stephanie Ramey ’08, executive director of Discover Central Massachusetts. The WBJ noted that one of her initiatives to enhance tourism in the area has been the creation of a mobile app for visitors. Ramey was recently profiled in Worcester State Magazine here.
Kate McEvoy ’95, vice president of corporate relations at UMass Memorial Medical Health Care. The WBJ noted that she is working to ensure the financial strength of the area’s largest employer, and praised McEvoy’s “innate ability to develop an idea and bring people together to execute that idea to excellence.”
Robin Fabry, M.Ed. ’92, co-founder of the CraftRoots Brewing in Milford. Fabry was a crime scene investigator for more than 20 years, and now coordinates live music and fundraisers at the popular taproom.
Allan Ritacco ’92, dean of the School of Design & Technology at Becker College. Ritacco is helping Becker position itself as a leader in video game design and esports management, according to the WBJ. Ritacco serves on the board of the Worcester Public Library Foundation and has worked with local Boys & Girls Clubs.
Robert Morton ’87, the president and CEO of Millbury Savings Bank who is currently overseeing the merger with bankHometown. According to the WBJ, Morton is also focused on easing tuition costs for students and serves on the board of the Worcester State University Foundation.
Arthur Vigeant ’81, mayor of Marlborough and president of the Massachusetts Mayors’ Association. The WBJ cites his pro-business attitudes that have increased jobs in Marlborough, allowing the city’s unemployment rate to fall well below the state average.
