Julie Frechette (Communication) published a chapter in the award-winning book, Censored 2015: The Top Censored Stories and Media Analysis of 2013-2014 (7 Stories Press).

Co-written with Rob Williams, Frechette’s chapter is titled “Action Coalition for Media Education (ACME): Smart Media Education for the Twenty-First Century.”

Recently awarded the winner of the 2014 Pillar Award for New Media and Journalism, the book is celebrated as the nation’s oldest news-monitoring project. Through its Campus Affiliates Program, its membership boasts more than 250 students and 49 professors spread over 18 campuses.

Every year since 1976, Project Censored has produced a Top-25 list of underreported news stories as well as the book, Censored, which is dedicated to the stories that ought to be top features on the nightly news, but that are missing because of media bias and self-censorship.
