Maeve MacLachlan ’28 is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing and a minor in economics. She’s from Bourne, Mass.
Why did you choose Worcester State?
I transferred to Worcester State because I liked the campus, and the Worcester area. It was a more affordable option, and it had my major.
Describe any internships or real-world experiences you’ve completed
On campus, I am a Resident Assistant (RA). Currently, I intern for Chartwell’s Higher Ed, creating content for the WSUEat’s Instagram. I also intern for Worcetser State’s own marketing department, helping create content for Instagram. In the past, I have done two internships with a regional planning commission, working with city design and public policy.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot is easily the tennis courts. Tennis is one of my favorite hobbies, and I love playing when I have the time.
What’s your favorite class you’ve ever taken at Worcester State and why?
My favorite class was Global Art History with Professor Chase. Art doesn’t particularly interest me, but I love history, and Professor Chase brought humor that made the class very enjoyable.
What’s your favorite Lancer memory?
My favorite Lancer memories are anytime I’m walking around campus and I see someone I know and get to catch up with them briefly. Those moments just make my day that much better and show me why I chose WooState.
What advice do you have for future Lancers?
My advice would be to smile at everyone. We have an incredible community, and smiling at someone can make all the difference in their day, as well as your own.
What are your post-grad plans?
My post grad plans are to get my MBA, and begin my career in marketing.
What is your favorite book/show/podcast at the moment?
My current favorite book is Eat Move Sleep by Tom Rath.
