Stacy A. Luster (Human Resources, Payroll, Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity) will introduce an author who is founder and president of the Winters Group, which specializes in diversity and inclusion strategic development, at a special event hosted by the Diverse Professional Roundtable on November 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Beechwood Hotel, 363 Plantation St., Worcester.

It is free and open to the public. Click to register.

The speaker will be Mary-Frances Winters, founder and president of The Winters Group. Winters is the author of “We Can’t Talk About That at Work! How to Talk About Race, Religion, Politics, and Other Polarizing Topics.” The book will be available for purchase from Barnes and Noble at the event, and plans are in the works to potentially make it available at the WSU bookstore.

Winters’ book addresses conversations about taboo topics at work and how to handle them effectively before they become polarizing and divisive. She will show how to deal with sensitive subjects in a way that brings people together instead of driving them apart.

Luster was one of the founders of the Diverse Professional Roundtable, which is an initiative of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and holds three signature events each year. The Winters talk, co-sponsored by Worcester State University, is the group’s key educational event for the year.
