The Worcester State University men’s soccer team kicked off a two-month-long shoe drive on Thursday, Dec. 31, benefitting the non-profit organization Funds2Orgs.

Funds2Orgs is a fundraising organization that helps sponsor shoe drives for schools, businesses, and other organizations. Funds2Orgs then donates the shoes to people and places that have been impacted by natural disasters. You can read more about Funds2Orgs by visiting their website.

Donations of gently worn shoes can be donated to the cause. Sneakers, sandals, dress shoes, cleats, or any other type of footwear can be donated, as long as they are free of serious wear and tear.

The shoe drive will run through March 1. Shoes can be dropped off in the Worcester State Athletics Office suite in the Wellness Center.

Questions on the shoe drive or how to make a donation can be directed to Worcester State men’s soccer head coach Aidan Abolfazli:

Hello, My name is Barbara Lindberg and I am the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Lynnwood, WA. Every year we do a “1,000 Pairs of Shoes” fundraiser to provide shoes for students in our school district (Edmonds School District). We are redoing our website and I love the image of shoe that you used; and, I am hoping that you would give us permission to use the image on our Rotary Club website to advertise our yearly shoe drive for students.

    Thank you,
    Barbara Lindberg, Secretary
    Rotary Club of Lynnwood
