Sunday afternoon, Feb. 27, saw the Worcester State University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) host a Special Olympics event at the Athletic Center.

Representatives from Lancer teams staffed a skills competition and cheered for the Special Olympians, who competed in a three-point shootout, a free throw contest, an obstacle course and a layup line.

After the workout upstairs, the athletes got the chance to take to Brissette ’88 Competition Court for a Special Olympics game.

“This special Olympic event has been a long-standing partnership that we look forward to every year,” said Coordinator of Student-Athlete Support Services Kelley Downs. “It’s great to see our SAAC run such a smooth and exciting event for special Olympians where everyone is included and participating.”
