Worcester State Theatre and the Department of Visual and Performing Arts are proud to announce the Irene Ryan nominee and alternates for BUS STOP. Emily Chestna is the Irene Ryan nominee, and will be joining Ruby Pontbriand and Ryan Purcell (the nominees from the Spring production of The Pirates of Penzance) at the Region 1 competition of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in January.
The Irene Ryan Scholarship is an acting competition that takes place regionally across the country. The regional winners advance to the nationals held at the Kennedy Center is Washington, DC.
Ms. Chestna, Ms. Pontbriand, and Mr. Purcell will be attending the Region 1 Festival, which will be held at the University of New Hampshire, where they and their scene partners will compete against over 300 other Irene Ryan nominees. The Irene Ryan alternates from BUS STOP are Robert Andersonand Justin Guzzetti.
