Swaminathan’s Physics Outreach Activities Discussed at National Meeting

Outreach activities organized by Sudha R. Swaminathan (Physical and Earth Sciences) were presented at a poster session of the American Association of Physics Teachers National Meeting on January 9, 2013 by Paul W. Zitzewitz, Chair of the Bauder Endowment Committee.

Swaminathan received funding from the Bauder Endowment to purchase physics equipment and demonstration items used in the activities.

Elementary-school students in the Worcester State Latino Education Institute’s after-school program, students in Joseph Marzilli’s physics class at North High School, and pre-med students in the Summer Enrichment Program of the University of Massachusetts Medical School participated in the activities.
