Members of the Worcester State community are featured prominently in the 25th Anniversary issue of the Worcester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.
Among this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees are six Worcester State alumni and several more are included as past winners of the award. University general counsel and assistant to the president Stacey Luster is featured on the cover of the issue as a 40 Under 40 alumna from the inaugural Class of 2000. Alumnus Derek Canton ’15, a 40 Under 40 honoree from 2018, appears in the issue’s “Finishing Photo,” which was taken by photographer Matt Wright ’10, honored in this year’s class. Among the judges for this year’s awards were Dr. Satya Mitra, a member of the Worcester State Foundation Board.
Here are the Worcester State graduates selected for the Class of 2024 40 Under 40:
Jenessa Burks ’15 earned a bachelor’s in elementary education and is an educator and artist who has collaborated in the creation of more than 20 murals throughout the city.
Raquel Castro-Corazzini ’10 earned a bachelor’s in Spanish and is the director of the Division of Youth Opportunities for the City of Worcester.
Lora Dumas ’14 earned a bachelor’s in business administration and is strategy director at ForHealth Consulting at UMass Chan Medical School .
Dan Joslyn ’10 earned a bachelor’s in criminal justice and is the co-owner and treasurer of Ace Temperature Control in Worcester, which was founded by his grandfather.
Julia McGuinn ’12 earned a bachelor’s in psychology and is construction recycling manager at E.L. Harvey & Sons in Westborough
Idaliana Medina ’13 earned a bachelor’s in psychology and is the director of community engagement at the United Way of Central Massachusetts is the owner of Pastry Chef Medina.
Matt Wright ’10 earned a bachelor’s in communication and is the owner of Wright Photo Studios in Worcester.
