Summer Campus Construction Begins July 21

July 20, 2021

The work for the electrical system installation will begin on lower campus this week and includes work around the Wellness Center. The roadway between the Wellness Center and Coughlin Field will be off-line each day (restored to traffic use at the end of each workday) from Wednesday, July 21 to Friday, July 30.  Signage will be placed in the north parking lot indicating that the roadway will not be available.

The $12 million State-funded underground electrical infrastructure project will improve the University’s electrical system for the next 25 years and reduce the possibility of power outages. The project is expected to take up to 18 months to complete. The project will include replacement of underground electrical wiring throughout the entire campus and will disrupt traffic patterns during the construction day, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and some Saturdays, weather permitting. Signage will be placed at the entrance of the North or South campus entrances indicating roadway accessibility; some parking lots and roadways will be offline.
