October is here and the countdown is on to our Fall Days of Giving, Oct. 26 and 27. On Oct. 26, 2010, Worcester State College became Worcester State University. Starting at 8 a.m. this Oct. 26, we’ll be celebrating for 1,874 minutes (1874 represents the year we were founded…see what we did there?) with our Fall Days of Giving. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to participate to show their support for Worcester State.
A generous alumna has offered a match up to $40,000. She will match all gifts dollar for dollar, while gifts from alumni will be matched $2 for every dollar. Your participation will help make a difference in the lives of our students.
Visit www.worcester.edu/daysofgiving on Oct. 26 and 27 to make your gift. If you prefer payroll deduction, the required forms must be completed, and all checks must be postmarked by Oct. 27 to be matched and included in our Fall Days of Giving.
“We are thrilled our donor is offering a match for our Fall Days of Giving. She is a true Lancer at heart – she wants our students to have a first-class education experience and is hoping her match will inspire others, especially fellow alumni, to join her in giving back and making a difference in the lives of our students,” says Thomas McNamara ’94, Vice President of Advancement.
“We hope alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members will make this an annual tradition to show their support and dedication to Worcester State by making a gift to support an area of interest on campus,” Jodi Briggs-Pickett, Executive Director of Development, says. “All gifts count- any size, any designation.”
