Lovo Koliego, a graduate of the MS in Nursing program, has used her education to focus on community and public health and start the Community Health Awareness Network (CHAN).
CHAN is dedicated to healthcare education and awareness for undeserved populations with a focus on the African immigrant communities in the Greater Worcester Area. Services for immigrant communities include health education and screenings, disease prevention, community health fairs, diet & nutrition information, community outreach, and CPR training.
CHAN also partners with local health care agencies in the community to provide services and tackle health disparities through quality, comprehensive, sustainable health and wellness educational programs.
Lovo has filed for 501(c)(3) status for CHAN.
