Matthew Ortoleva (English) was invited to speak at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on September 26 by a group of faculty whose work focuses on questions of geography and place.
His presentation, titled “Mapping the Discourses of Narragansett Bay in Search of a New Ecocentric Language of Place,” focused on the role of language in shaping ecological relationships to particular places.
