Fortunata Songora Makene (Sociology) presented a paper at the 56th Annual Meeting of the African Studies Association, which was held November 28-December 2, 2012, in Philadelphia, Penn.
Her paper, titled “Calling for Justice on the Girl-Child Right to Education,” explores international and national policy and practices that hinder girl-children in Tanzania to access their right to education.
Songora Makene also chaired a session at the conference on African Charter on Human and People‘s Rights.
