In recognition of Hospital Week, the UMass Medical Center paid tribute to its employees. Below, two of its nurses share their experiences with the Medical Center-sponsored BSN program in collaboration with Worcester State University:

  • Jennifer Shea: “I was part of the UMass Memorial very first new grad program and knew I wanted to be one of the first to graduate from this program as well. I feel so fortunate for my experiences. Upon completion of the program I plan to continue my education and seek an MSN, and possibly see myself in a leadership role in the future.”
  • Wendy Blanchflower: “The next two years are only going to make me a better nurse and advocate for my patients. It was my intention when entering the program to obtain my BSN for job security and to be a role model to my children. I now find myself excited about all the changes I have already seen in my practice and even more excited about how I will facilitate change around me.”
